Save your first receipt

  1. Choose Add receipt, then scan pages with the document scanner, choose photos, or enter details without an image.
  2. Enter a merchant or title and the purchase date. Amounts are optional; use a decimal point, without grouping separators, and choose the original currency.
  3. Add a folder, notes, or your own return date if useful. Tap Save.

Multi-page receipts are supported: scanned pages and selected photos stay in order, up to 30 pages per receipt.

Back up before you need to

  1. Open Settings → Create full backup.
  2. Choose Save to Files and keep the .receiptsleeve file somewhere safe.
  3. To recover your records, choose Restore from backup, select that file, and review the confirmation.

Restore validates the entire backup before changing anything, then replaces your current library. It does not merge libraries. PDF and CSV exports are useful records but cannot be restored as a library.

Frequently asked questions

How do return reminders work?

You enter the return date yourself; Receipt Sleeve does not look up retailer policies. If you turn the reminder on, you get a local alert at 9 AM in your device’s time zone. A date whose alert time has already passed will not create an alert. iOS notification permission and Focus settings affect delivery.

What can I export?

Select receipts and share them as a readable PDF or a CSV file. A full backup (.receiptsleeve) includes the original images and can be restored later.

How are currencies handled?

Each receipt keeps its original currency. Receipt Sleeve never converts currencies and never adds amounts across different currencies.

What does the free version include, and what does the unlock do?

Receipt Sleeve is free and holds up to 25 receipts. A one-time $4.99 unlock removes the 25-receipt limit, so you can keep unlimited receipts, limited only by your iPhone’s storage. There is no subscription. Export, backup and reminders are free.

I reached 25 receipts. Are my receipts locked?

No. Existing receipts are never locked. At the free limit you can still read, edit, delete, export and back up everything you have saved. Only adding new receipts requires the unlock.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Settings → Restore purchases while signed in to the Apple Account used for the original purchase.

The camera is unavailable

Choose photos or enter details manually. You can allow camera access in iOS Settings.

A receipt will not save

Check the title, amount format and image size. Free some device storage if needed, then try again.

A backup was rejected

Keep the original file and your current library. A damaged, incomplete or unsupported file is rejected without changing your saved data. Do not delete the app as a troubleshooting step.

What happens if I delete the app?

Deleting the app deletes the receipts stored on your device. There is no account or cloud copy to recover from, so create a full backup and confirm the file is saved before you delete the app. iCloud or device backups may restore app data according to your Apple settings.
